J Barbour & Son was established back in 1894 by John Barbour in South Shields. Barbour specialise in developing job specific clothing, work wear and outerwear. The implementation of the waxed-cotton jacket has propelled the Barbour name to worldwide success. Other endeavours include leading the way in specialist clothing for fishing, shooting and motorcycling. The legendary Steve McQueen name heads the iconic motorcycling collection, giving this traditional brand a cool and desirable appeal.
